Optimization of Expenditures on Screening and
Diagnostics of HIV/AIDS in Georgia
This analytical report is based on assessment of rationality of expenditures within national state funded HIV programme, with purpose of identifying opportunities of potential optimization and cost-saving.
In this regards, report covers assessment of rationality of expenditures on

HIV screening services, performed within state programme of integrated screening of HIV and HCV among general population;

HIV diagnostic and confirmatory testing, including assessment of existing algorithms of diagnostic and centralization of this intervention;

Procurement of HIV ARV medicines.
As a result assessment revealed that significant financial savings can be ensured, in case of optimized and targeted planning and spending, in line with creating enabling legal, regulatory and programmatic environment.
